It seems like another day, another rally for BrainChip Holding (BRN), with the company once again topping the biggest movers of the day. Shares in the company rose 20.7% to $1.69.
While the company has received notifications just this week about improving share prices without announcing anything price-sensitive, today could be different.
Shares rocketed on a capital call.
BrainChip plans to finance its Akida commercialisation strategy off the back of new funding.
BrainChip and LDA Capital have had a $65 million put option in place for the last couple of years.
It allows BrainChip to issue LDA Capital with new shares when it requires funding.Today’s announcement shows BrainChip expects to call up LDA for $20.3 million.
BrainChip Holdings works in the software and services sector.

The second place for market gainers went to City Chic Collective (CCX), the retailing company. Its shares rose 12.1% to reach $5.01.
It was a busy Christmas trading period for City Chic.
The company announced unaudited sales revenue grew by 49.8% to $178.3 million.
Phil Ryan, CEO and managing director of City Chic noted the company overcame challenges for such a strong result.
“I am pleased with our trading results for the first half, with strong revenue growth in all regions despite well-publicised labour shortages and impacts to global logistics and supply chains, and government directed lockdowns related to the pandemic,” he said.
“While we acknowledge the environment remains uncertain, the performance of the business to date demonstrates the team’s ability to navigate volatile market conditions.”
