80% of companies have successfully completed at least one round of financing from venture investors, which is the highest percentage of the three editions of the program. In total, the selected companies have raised over BGN 64 million from venture investors so far. Part of the third edition of beamUp lab will also be companies known to the general public that have successfully completed three or more rounds of financing, such as OfficeRnD, Hobo Bulgaria and Boleron.
“We are satisfied that beamUp lab gives concrete benefits to start-ups, small and medium-sized companies, and their evaluation of the program is very positive. This motivates us to develop it through new knowledge and leading practices, and to enrich it with leading European and Bulgarian partners, so that companies are in a vital ecosystem that ecourages their success,” said Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov, CEO of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange during the closing ceremony of the second edition of beamUp lab.
At the ceremony, BSE and its partners awarded the best achievers from beamUp lab vol. 2 in the following six categories: Super Star for overall achievements and the first Bulgarian unicorn – Payhawk; Moon for Investors for a company that impressed investors – Econic One; Sun of Community for community service – Coursedot; Green Star for carbon footprint decrease innovation – Transmetrics and Favourite Star for audience’s favourite company – LaDigue. BSE awarded the beamUp Star award to the Ministry of Innovation and Growth for contribution to the development of the beam market through the initiative to create a new investment instrument between the Stock Exchange, BDB and private investors for financing small and medium-sized enterprises.
During the event, the BSE also announced the partnership of beamUp lab with the program “Drazkite” on Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.
All, 22 companies, received a certificate and an electronic badge for successfully completing the program.
Among the official guests of the event were Hristina Pendicheva – representative of the Ministry of Finance in the Board of Directors of the BSE, Krasimir Yakimov – Cieh of the Cabinet of the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Martin Gikov – Executive director of the Fund of Funds, Tsanko Arabadzhiev – Executive director of Bulgarian Development Bank, etc.
Leading the ceremony were the top journalists Ilina Biserova from BNT and Dimitar Vuchev from Euronews Bulgaria.
