Snam confirms its position among Italian companies with the best integration of ESG factors in corporate strategies, placing third in ET.group’s Integrated Governance Index.
Stefano Venier, CEO of Snam, commented: “This important result confirms the perfect integration of sustainability and, more generally, of ESG issues in our long-term development strategies. The objective of our day-to-day activities is to leverage on Snam’s unique infrastructure and expertise to contribute to the security and diversification of Italy’s energy supply, while at the same time, becoming enablers of the ecological transition, in tune with the territories in which we operate and the interests of all our stakeholders. This way of doing business is among the priorities of the new Board of Directors, as demonstrated, for instance, by extending the ESG Committee’s activity to the energy transition scenarios and the increasingly strong link between management remuneration and the achievement of environmental and social objectives, from containing methane emissions to gender balance”.
In 2022, the index involved Italy’s top 100 listed companies as well as companies that edited the Dnf in 2021 (Consob basket) and the top 50 unlisted Italian companies. The questionnaire was submitted, removing sample overlaps, to a total of about 300 companies.
