International stocks trading in New York closed higher Tuesday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts gained 2.4% to 138.05. The European index advanced 2.6% to 130.05. The Asian index jumped 2.2% to 168.16. The Latin American index moved up 1.7% to 170.44, while the emerging-markets index edged up 2% to 281.47.
DiDi Global Inc. was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The Beijing-based technology company rose 13% after The Wall Street Journal reported that Chinese authorities are preparing to impose a fine of more than $1 billion on the ride-hailing company, bringing an end to a yearlong investigation into the company’s cybersecurity practices.
AstraZeneca PLC rose 2.7% after the pharmaceutical company said its Enhertu drug has been approved in the European Union for patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer.
