It is a pleasure to report that the LiveVox Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:LVOX) is up 65% in the last quarter. But that doesn’t change the fact that the returns over the last three years have been stomach churning. The share price has sunk like a leaky ship, down 73% in that time. So we’re relieved for long term holders to see a bit of uplift. But the more important question is whether the underlying business can justify a higher price still.
While the last three years has been tough for LiveVox Holdings shareholders, this past week has shown signs of promise. So let’s look at the longer term fundamentals and see if they’ve been the driver of the negative returns.
View our latest analysis for LiveVox Holdings
LiveVox Holdings wasn’t profitable in the last twelve months, it is unlikely we’ll see a strong correlation between its share price and its earnings per share (EPS). Arguably revenue is our next best option. Generally speaking, companies without profits are expected to grow revenue every year, and at a good clip. Some companies are willing to postpone profitability to grow revenue faster, but in that case one does expect good top-line growth.

A Different Perspective
The last twelve months weren’t great for LiveVox Holdings shares, which performed worse than the market, costing holders 60%. The market shed around 23%, no doubt weighing on the stock price. The three-year loss of 20% per year isn’t as bad as the last twelve months, suggesting that the company has not been able to convince the market it has solved its problems. Although Baron Rothschild famously said to “buy when there’s blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own”, he also focusses on high quality stocks with solid prospects. I find it very interesting to look at share price over the long term as a proxy for business performance. But to truly gain insight, we need to consider other information, too. Consider risks, for instance. Every company has them, and we’ve spotted 4 warning signs for LiveVox Holdings you should know about.
