Investors on the hunt for a steady income are putting their money on bricks and mortar for the first time in nearly four years.
About £134 million was invested into property funds in June, according to the technology and data company Calastone, after a record 44 months of investors withdrawing their cash from the sector.
Meanwhile investors were jittery about the stock market. Equity funds had £1.06 billion of outflows in June, when UK-focused funds bore the brunt of the selling, according to Calastone.
Calastone said that the inflows into property funds were mainly due to a wave of new buyers, rather than a reduction in the number of investors selling.
